1 /5 Steven: Update: I actually gave this gym another go. I was going to change my 2-star review for a higher one, seeing that some improvements had been done and I was really enjoying the classes…
The reality is : the location and the space (because the gym isn’t busy) is the only thing you’re paying for here. The equipment is really good quality, although you will get confronted by staff if a member feels entitled to use a piece of equipment while you’re using it.
Some classes are really good (Natalie, Diego, Johnny…) some others are absolute garbage, with trainers not caring about the members, correcting posture or care to give a stretch after the class.
The place is badly managed: the showers are constantly dirty and the staff working there isn’t treated well (I’ve overheard the manager Kean in the cleaning cupboard of the changing rooms talking bad to a cleaner) nor paid properly (I have that information from a friend who applied to work in their Spa).
They are understaffed and spend more energy trying to see you additional PT sessions than actually improving the place (rejoined for 4 months and the steamroom was out of order 8 times!)
Equinox in the UK seriously needs work, they seem to sadly prioritise high-paying elite customers to the fitness people seeing this as an investment for their health and it shows.
Also beware : they implement really money-grabbing marketing techniques I had never seen elsewhere with their type of contracts: make you think they are going to allow you to freeze your membership for a month if you’re going away, but then have you pay for that month as a 13th month.

Previous review :
You’d think paying over £200 a month for a gym would allow you a great service and amenities… but nope. I’ve been a member there for not even a month and I cannot stress how disappointing the experience has been. Starting from the sales advisors being unreliable and changing their offers every week, telling you a fee then another, to have minimum or even zero customer service when you’d email for enquiring about payments/billings or any questions you’d have then. The classes and the trainers are great, although the morning ones all start before 8, it would be nice to have some at 8/8.30 too.
The steam-room as been out of service for now three weeks, now I’m not sure how long it takes to fix but it shouldn’t be taking that long…
The latest thing was getting refused a shower after a workout because apparently, the showers close 15mn before closing time for cleaning ? Let’s highlight I was dripping in sweat, and I’ve never been told this when registered, or by the front desk, nor been announced in the gym.
I’ve never been to a gym who schedules their cleaning during opening hours, it’s just ridiculous.
On top of that, it closes early on Saturdays (4PM) and still remains closed on Sundays
