Tranquility Yoga - Herons Ghyll

Rating: 4.8 /5
Jessica Holdstock I became a member at Tranquility in summer of 2024 and have found it to be incredible value for money. I’ve been doing yoga on and off since I was a teen but Tranquility offers something beyond the average yoga class. There’s no perfecting and honing postures, pushing yourself harder and further like a ballet class (although you can do that if you want to), it’s a “come as you are and do what feels good” studio with all the classes supporting a holistic and inclusive approach. I don’t feel self conscious but the varied classes and the inclusion of breathwork (pranayama) and meditative techniques has improved my overall wellbeing and finally given me a more positive relationship with my body. I haven’t found a class at Tranquility I don’t like and have progressed my practice and am still able to challenge myself when I want to. What’s especially appealing for me as a working mum is the variety of classes offered early evening so I can work around the work day and doing bedtimes. Plus it’s set in gorgeous countryside and there’s a whole load of workshops and extra events hosted there that are great if you spiritually curious and looking to expand your practice. I honestly can’t recommend highly enough - one of the most positive introductions to my life in some time.

NL Fitness - St Marks Rd

Rating: 5 /5
Victoria Horrell I’ve been training with Layla and Nic for about 18 months, and was thrilled when I heard they were setting up NL fitness. It didn’t disappoint! For the first time in my life I’m actively LOVING exercise. The focus on form, technique, and strength has transformed how I feel about movement. I turn 40 this year, and I’m the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. Every session has exactly the right balance of hard work and laughter. What an incredible community has been built up in just a few short months. I would (and do!) recommend to anyone.

Ethos Barnet - London

Rating: 4.8 /5
Charlie Menegatos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands down the best Jiu-Jitsu gym in North London. Ethos Jiu-Jitsu Barnet is more than just a place to train—it’s a community. From day one, youll feel welcomed by the coaches and students alike. The level of instruction is world-class, with a perfect balance between technical detail, hard rolls, and a focus on continuous improvement. Whether youre a complete beginner or a seasoned grappler, the atmosphere is respectful, encouraging, and genuinely ego-free. The coaches are not only experienced competitors but also fantastic teachers who break down techniques clearly and always make time to answer questions. The gym itself is clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with a strong emphasis on hygiene and safety. Theres also a great café space with healthy drinks and bowls coming soon! (the bowls and mushroom coffee are legit!), making it easy to fuel up before or after training. Highly recommend Ethos to anyone looking to get into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or take their game to the next level. Oss!
