Adam Wright Fantastic Gym with great coaches and community. I came to this gym after moving to Portsmouth on my working placement year between University and thought I would try something new to the regular gym which I am used to. This ended up being a quality choice. After having the 1 to 1 beginner session with Carl to take me through all of the CrossFit lifts to ensure I was able to do them correctly and safely, I felt involved in the gyms community straight away. Every coach is super friendly and knowledgeable on everything CrossFit! They are there to answer every question you have and ensure you are moving yourself and the weights safely and importantly - pushing yourself! I thoroughly enjoyed the summer beach CrossFit sessions that the gym offers as it’s an excuse to get a tan while working out! I also really enjoyed the gym individual and team competitions - an opportunity to really push yourself and see where you have improved. After moving to Portsmouth by myself, I didn’t know many people in the area, so having this community of friendly fitness fanatics who were up for pushing each other and also having a laugh really helped me out and I’m very appreciative of that. Well done Carl and Claire for what you do at this gym as it’s a really quality place. I wish this gym was in my home town where I live in Essex!

Koyun Rai Phil is an exceptional manager, he tried helping me in anyway he could for my suspended code but despite not getting everything sorted out he maintained a professional and welcoming attitude that is amazing for the PureGym environment.

Alistair Clamp I had an amazing experience with Louis as my personal trainer. Hes incredibly knowledgeable about form and nutrition, creating tailored workouts that delivered results. Louis is friendly, making sessions enjoyable, and hes super flexible with scheduling. I highly recommend Louis to anyone seeking a top-notch PT!

Livvie Hope I’ve had such a great experience at The Gym Group in Shirley! From day one, the team has been incredibly welcoming and friendly. The personal trainers are always approachable and happy to help – Jay in particular is fantastic. He’s always available in the office to answer any questions, and we’re never made to feel like we can’t ask something, no matter how small. The gym itself is clean, modern, and well-equipped with up-to-date machines and facilities. Any concerns or issues are taken seriously and addressed quickly, which really shows how much they care about their members. It’s a supportive and encouraging environment that makes working out feel enjoyable and accessible. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a positive, professional, and friendly place to train!

Lei Hang I’ve been a member of this gym for years. The staff there are all friendly and very helpful. Plenty of equipment and it’s clean there. I generally go to the gym late mornings/ midday to avoid the busy times, as I don’t really want to wait around to use things.
