Emily Papworth I have been going to Guts and Glory for well over a year now; its such a great gym! The classes are always challenging and never get boring as the team always mix it up and keep you guessing. The trainers are really supportive and have created a really lovely community. Cant recommend enough!

Awa Chats I went to the joint pain programme after hearing about it following my physio sessions at St George’s hospital. I was a little apprehensive as I’ve never been to the gym before. Ryan did an assessment with me to find out what my level was… it’s necessary! After the first session I was in pain but it was a different kind of pain. I was using parts of my body that I hadn’t used in ages! I’ve had a lower back pain for years but this pain was new. It was a healthy pain. The pain came from the muscles in my body that I ‘should have been using’ but wasn’t due to my body compensating the pain I was permanently in. OMG! This was a complete revelation… I was using wrong parts of my body to do everyday exercises and I never knew that. Alex, trainer and class teacher is absolutely brilliant. I’m sure she has memorised each person’s capabilities because she give us the same exercises but they are sort-of-ish tailored to each person. She’s amazing! I never got that feeling where I couldn’t be bothered to go. I even went to the class when I felt rough because I knew it would make me feel better. Exercising is not just a physical activity but it’s a mental one too. It makes me feel so good inside and I can’t recommend the joint pain programme enough. I tell everyone about it! I’m just sad that the 12 weeks programme has come to an end. It helped me so much and although I’ve another 12 weeks, that is going to fly by. Thank you Alex, the team and thank you Nuffield Health for providing this invaluable service!

RedXGaming Friendly staff, but the gym is not worth £40! The gym has a funny smell every time you walk in, they open at 8am which is late for a gym (especially if you’d like to go before work), when a machine breaks it takes about 4-10 weeks to fix. I use this gym because it’s local to me but definitely not worth £40 should be £30 at best. The picture I included is when it will be back in action but it’s been out of action for 4 weeks already, At the time of posting this the machine has already been out of use for 5 weeks! Also they don’t normally have hand wash in the restrooms. However their personal trainer here Indie is great! Knows exactly what he’s talking about, He’s a great trainer and great guy!

Dory’s knowledge and expertise was just what I needed to give me the confidence to regain the strength and mobility. I would highly recommend West 1 Health to any of my family and friends.
