5 /5 mei Gan: I’ve had some long-term issues with mobility of my left hip and a nagging pain in my left glute. After starting to run earlier in 2025 these issues were irritating me after and between runs. I needed to find some way to make my left hip more flexible and to try to reduce the risk of injury during running.
Following some reading in running books and online I decided to try Yoga and Pilates to see if that would help and without any high expectations, I looked for somewhere to do this.
About 6 months ago I stumbled across Yogavenue in Summertown, and since then I have been going there regularly. I have to honestly say that my objective has been achieved, not only has my left hip’s mobility improved, but I can now bend all my toes without difficulty. I no longer feel my left hip is tight or painful after running and I noticed that my endurance during running has improved as well. I can now run for longer than 1.5 hours easily without getting into a breathless state. So, I feel this must be attributed to practising yoga at YogaVenue in addition to doing both Reformer Pilates and Dynamic Mat Pilates there
In addition to the positive outcome which I have acquired through months of visiting the place, I have to say the environment and the studio atmosphere is always the same and it is very welcoming and warm. All members of staff, including teachers and receptionists, regardless of which day I go, they always seem to be friendly, encouraging and helpful. I love the fact that whichever day I go, whichever teacher is taking the class, the quality of teaching is always very high and all the teachers are always passionate and love what they do with their teaching. Not only do they enjoy their teaching, but they are also very good with their instructions for all the transitions between movements and this helps with the continuous flow and benefits of the class.
It is understandable that when attending group fitness classes, due to the number of students there, it is not always possible to get some individual attention and help from the teachers, however, the teachers at YogaVenue do find ways to help you individually and correct your posture and alignment. This must be attributed to the owners, who themselves are very good yoga teachers, really knowing what to look for in their staff.
Writing reviews is something I have rarely done and I don’t always know what to write. However, I feel that I need to make an exception, because every session I have attended makes me feel very good and happy as they are very therapeutic.
My overall verdict of YogaVenue is without doubt a very good place to learn and practise and achieve your goal. Once again, I would like to thank all the staff at Yogavenue for their genuinely excellent service.
If anyone asks me about my experience of YogaVenue I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend YogaVenue to them.
