5 /5 Kirsty Duffy: I can’t say enough good things about Every Body studio. I originally joined because I was looking for barre classes, but ended up falling in love with yoga. Being a beginner (and a lifetime of not being able to touch my toes in PE classes!) I was a little nervous, but the ethos of this studio is truly inclusive. I really love that all teachers offer different levels of movement as “invitations”- I’ve never felt pressure to push myself more than I can or feel like I can’t do it if I don’t reach a particular expression of a posture. I have felt welcome in every single class I’ve been to, and am starting to see yoga more as self-care than just exercise.
There’s also a wonderful community around the studio, with book clubs, workshops, and socials. When I was new to Oxford it was a really welcoming space and I have met some genuine friends through Every Body.
I joined the studio in 2021, and found the community particularly valuable in the past year when pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy I was supported in the studio to keep coming to normal yoga classes as long as I felt comfortable, as well as the wonderful pregnancy yoga with Lily (she offers tea and chats after the classes, which was so valuable to meet other mums-to-be, who I now see at postnatal Pilates). The baby massage course with Lizzie was the first “outside” thing I did since my baby was born and was a really lovely step back into the world.
