Avoid at All Costs – Terrible Service, Zero Accountability
I rarely leave negative reviews of this nature, but my experience at Umber’s Beauty Bar in Windsor was so shockingly bad that I feel compelled to warn others.
If youre looking for nail treatments, DO NOT waste your time or money here. A friend and I booked pedicures and walked away with feet in worse condition than before. One month later, were both still recovering from the damage caused by the appalling service. Toenails were unevenly filed, poorly and unevenly painted, and the skin on our feet looks noticeably worse post-treatment. There was nothing remotely “professional” about the service we received. All of this and at a premium price, absolutely ridiculous.
Whats worse, when I brought this to the attention of the owner, (Umber), I was met with zero customer service or empathy. Instead of taking responsibility or even offering a sincere apology, she initially offered us vouchers to return (as if we’d ever want to go back), only to rescind them when I asked for a refund to take my business elsewhere. Her attitude made it clear: she’s not interested in customer care — only in making money. I explained that my friend who has had a pedicure about 2 times in her life was taking me out to treat me to the service while I was 39 weeks pregnant, it was meant to be a lovely treat for us both and ended with us feeling like we were robbed of our money. I can honestly do better at home with a cheese grater as a foot file and tipex as nail polish. Umber should be ashamed of herself and as I mentioned via WhatsApp, I will be taking this further with the bank, via a chargeback to reclaim the funds that her business should NEVER have received.
To be clear, the issue isnt just the poor quality of the treatment, it’s the absolute lack of decency and professionalism from the owner. A good salon will acknowledge when things go wrong and try to make it right. At Umber’s, you’ll get excuses, dismissiveness, and the strong sense that customer satisfaction is the very last priority.
First and last time I’ll ever set foot in this place. I hope no one else experiences this. Avoid this lacklustre salon.
