Townhouse Nail Salon, Notting Hill - (Near , UK)

3 /5 Zoe Wain: I’ve been going to townhouse for a few months because they do take care of your nails (ie cuticles, not using electric nail file), it’s clean and a nice vibe. However the service is a bit hit and miss for the price that townhouse charge compared to other nail salons. You can see it’s starting to become more about profit rather than service. My first appointment here was excellent really great care given to my nails and so worth the price but since then it’s gone downhill. The majority of technicians are kind and good at what they do but because of the overbookings you can end up having a rushed service and I’ve ended up with cut skin under my nails from filing. I booked for a mani - pedi today and had to wait 30 minutes between each service while new customers were served - not something you’d expect from a ‘premium’ salon and with no offer of a complimentary drink during the wait to apologise (it’s 30 degrees today). The actual pedicure was very basic and anything else (repairs, callus removal) is an extra fee on top of the £50+ you already pay. I don’t think this is the fault of the technicians but the overbooking on the systems which means they rush your appointment or you have to wait. End result is a mediocre finish, decent nail care and an expensive bill. Overall I think I’ll go somewhere else for my nails now until townhouse can improve their service / reduce overbookings if I’m going to paying £100+ for gel nails and toes.

1 /5 M Pezzotta: Extremely bad service. The polish was put uneven and this is how my nails look after 1 week. My nail appointment needed to last 45 minutes, instead lasted 20. Everything was super rushed and no care in putting homogeneous nail polish. The layering is also uneven.

1 /5 CD: AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE – BORDERLINE SCAM I had an awful experience at the Townhouse, Notting Hill branch on Tuesday 16th at 2:30pm. My appointment started late, and although I booked clear gel extensions with French tips, the nail technician told me it wouldn’t look good. I explained I’d had this done many times and was happy to proceed, including adding a nude base before the French tips, which she agreed to. However, while I was briefly responding to a message and she had my other hand, she applied pink gel instead of clear. When I pointed this out, she fully agreed that pink gel would not work with brown French tips but said nothing could be done as it had already hardened. I was unhappy but, due to time constraints before my birthday and fully booked salons, I agreed to change to one solid colour instead. The technician seemed unsure throughout, and after nearly 3 hours of redos and fixes, she ended the appointment saying she had “tried” and that the nails were done. Within 36 hours, a nail popped off, and by the next day all nails had fallen off. None were broken or damaged—they simply popped off easily. I contacted the salon via WhatsApp (as there’s no phone contact) with photos. They only offered a 7-day redo, which wasn’t possible due to my birthday plans and concerns about further nail damage. I requested a refund but was ignored, and as of Sunday the 21st, I’ve had no response. This is by far the worst nail salon experience I’ve ever had. The staff were unprofessional, lacked skill, and the company showed no accountability. I will never return or recommend them. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

1 /5 Zhanna Leonteva: I was recommended this chain of salons as one of the best in town, and considering they charge roughly the same as other nail salons, the quality overall left a lot to be desired (pictures attached). The gel polish wasn’t applied close to the cuticle and doesn’t look like it’s freshly done (and that’s day 2), on some nails there’s also a noticeable gap on the sides. However, I’m rather happy with my pedicure. Bonus point for the speed. All in all, I probably wouldn’t revisit this place.
