STRIVE PE AND SPORT - Gillingham

Rating: 5 /5
Sue Hedley We have been using Strive PE and Sport for a couple of years now and cant thank them enough. Our child attends their SEND camp. He is Non speaking Autistic and they have been fantastic. He takes him self in to the session now and it is so lovely to see him have a bit of independence. All activities are adapted to the individual childs needs and they can take part in whichever activities they choose. All the staff are amazing and welcoming. Once again, Thank you Strive. what you have achieved and the facilities you provide, especially for the SEND community is ammazing

Hani O I have a mixed review for this place. I’ve only joined 3 weeks ago and these are my thoughts (this is coming from someone who goes there by herself and doesn’t have any kids, and only uses swimming pool + gym): - Changing rooms aren’t the cleanest. There’s limescale in some parts, especially showers. The first week didn’t smell but for some reason, during my third week, I could smell urine as soon as I walked in. The changing rooms need to be cleaned better and something needs to be put in place so that those who use it, don’t leave it dirty. - Swimming is ok, I only go in the mornings. Each day, there’s different lanes with different speeds, so if you’re a slow swimmer, you can go in the slow lane for example. I’ve never had any issues of someone ā€œtelling me offā€, maybe because I was there on my own and I just quietly left after my swim. - I didn’t really have any communication with the receptionists so I can’t comment on this but the times I’ve asked questions, there was always someone nice enough to respond and explain the things to me. First day of joining was very daunting but one of the lifeguards with a red t-shirt made me feel at ease and explained the rules so that I’d be more familiar (the guy with light brown hair and always smiling). - I haven’t been to the female gym (yet). But the normal gym has all the basic necessities and plenty of machines and free weights for people to use. Off-peak times are the best as the gyms are usually kinda empty. Overall, it’s a good place if you aren’t picky and can withstand the dirt of the changing rooms. You can find different activities, follow the rules and get on with your things. However, if you start picking at everything and have other issues then it might become challenging.

NiKoJlaY Amazing gym in East Ham, located near to the Underground station. Its perfect for people who wanna do some training on amateur level or just to keep their body in a healthy condition. For a professional sportsman, it probably isnt the best option. Its really popular, I never saw less than 50 people inside, and thats not even on peak hours. The only thing that sometimes annoys me is the online gym app. When I try to scan the qr code at the gym door, it works 1 time, and the other 3-4 no, and you need to enter your personal code manually.

Makda Berhane I’ve been coming here since it first opened, and it’s always spotless and well-kept. The staff are very professional and always willing to help, especially Samuel and Campbell. I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my fitness since joining Samuel’s classes—he’s always been supportive during and after sessions, offering great advice. Campbell has also been a big help, correcting my form both in class and even when I was training on my own. Lastly, the other instructors—Eve, Robert, Harmony, and Joyti—are all very kind and polite, which makes the whole experience even better. The only downside is that the Fit Box class really deserves a different time slot—it’s an excellent session and a great introduction to boxing.

Krav Maga Self Defence Academy HQ - Marlborough Rd

Rating: 5 /5
Michał Grudzień Joining the Krav Maga Academy was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my fitness and self-defense skills. Super welcoming vibe from day one—instructors and members are friendly and supportive. Krav Maga here is a true full-body experience: you’re striking, defending, moving explosively, building strength, burning calories, and sharpening your reflexes all at once. Every class leaves me drenched in sweat, sore in muscles I didn’t know I had, and buzzing with energy. If you’re looking for a place that combines serious skill-building with a supportive, positive community, this is it. Can’t recommend it enough; come try a class, you’ll be hooked!
