2 /5 Afroditi Michalaki: Let me start off by saying that the place itself looks nice and the staff is friendly and rather accommodating.
On my first visit, I had two different technicians work on my nails which was fine, but it makes their work feel rushed. My nails lasted just fine. On my second visit, as the technician was filling the acrylic, I noticed an area of yellow discoloration which I asked her about and she said “don’t worry that’s fine”. So obviously, I trusted the expert. Fast forward three weeks later & one of my nails begins to lift. In order to avoid any moisture from being trapped underneath, I removed the acrylic myself, as I had a few days to go until my next appointment. To my utmost surprise, there is a green patch of mold on the middle of the nail — higher up from where it was lifted, meaning that it was not caused by the lifting itself! My nails were originally very long, and the mold appeared in the middle of my normal nailbed (see photo), so I know that this was not caused by a previous technician, since they did my two last infills and the mold was relatively low on my longer nail. I was instantly worried that this may have spread to more nails, and indeed, more nails had been affected all across the sides, where yellow discoloration turned out to not be “fine”!! My nails now require a treatment of at least 6 months to recover, during which I am obviously not allowed to have any sort of polish on my nails.
I have been getting acrylics for the last 7 years and never has this ever happened to me. I am very disappointed, as I trusted that I had found my new go-to place. When I contacted them with pictures, all I got was a “sorry this happened” — most unprofessional on their part. Overall, it’s a nice looking place with friendly staff, but I am sure that there are cleaner and more reliable options in the area.
