Denise Grant I saw what a friend had achieved at UP, so when I retired at the age of 57 I joined the Kensington UP branch with a goal of transforming body, my health and general wellbeing. I was aware it was an expensive option but having seen the results in real life I was willing to make the investment in terms of money, time and energy because I knew it would pay off. I was quite self conscious initially but I quickly got over that and followed all the guidance consistently. I quit alcohol and smoking. I ate 1350 calories daily from a healthy high protein diet, walked 15000 steps a day, drank 3 litres of water a day, slept 8 hours a night, and attended the gym 3 times a week. It was hard work and a daily challenge, but in just 6 months I dropped from 40% body fat to 19%. I lost 20Kg. I was strong and toned and I also looked 10 years younger. If a client consistently follows their trainer’s instructions (no cheating!) then results are basically guaranteed. And it happens quite quickly. Now over 3 years later having been inspired by the trainers at UP, I have built a healthy lifestyle around weight training, exercise and good nutrition. I feel like I am a new woman. I recently had my 60th birthday and a woman stopped me in the street today on my way to the gym and she said “can I just say you have a fantastic body”. For the first time in my life I am body confident. And most importantly I have never been happier.
