1 /5 Selam Negasi: I’m very disappointed with my experience at this salon this morning.I booked an appointment for 10:00 AM with I think her name was Lilly or Cecilia and called ahead to let the hairdresser know I was running 10 minutes late. Her response was unfriendly and made me feel like I was already an inconvenience ( I wish I had cancelled the appointment). When I arrived, she was not welcoming at all—her attitude and facial expressions made it seem like she was being forced to do my hair rather than offering a service I was paying for.
Without even asking, she walked me straight to the washing basin, and when I told her I had already washed my hair at home, she simply said, “Good, that saves time,” as if doing my hair was a favour, not a paid service.
I had requested a blow-dry with straightening and curls (a £35 service), but she started curling my hair without properly straightening it first. When I asked her to straighten it before curling—as my hair is naturally frizzy—she replied that it would be “double work,” and insisted that she had already straightened it using a blow-dry brush. This response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially considering I was paying for a full styling service, not shortcuts.
She didn’t seem confident or experienced and I felt like a burden rather than a valued customer. I left very unhappy and By the time I left, my hair didn’t even look like it had been professionally done. I took a photo when I got home because I was so disappointed. I have uploaded the photo with this review so others can judge for themselves whether it looks like professional work.
I honestly regret not booking with the other stylist Hulya in the same studio, who appeared much friendlier and more professional.Sadly, I won’t be returning.
That said, I also had my nails done there yesterday and I was extremely happy with the service from Lan Nathan. She was friendly, professional, and clearly knew what she was doing. I would highly recommend her for nails.
If you’re visiting this salon, I strongly suggest avoiding Lilly or Cecilia I don’t exactly remember her name but for hair service book with Hulya instead—she was working nearby and seemed much friendlier and far more professional. I really wish I had chosen her instead.
