1 /5 Huyen Le: Really unskilled and unprofessional, even rude !!!! I am a beautician myself (I do lashes and nails particularly) and I hardly ever give a negative reviews for anyone but my experience was unacceptable. I came to have my lash lift today at just before 3:40pm. I believe I was seen by Eli. I was told it would take about 30 mins for the treatment. While she was doing my lashes, there was a customer arriving for her 4pm appointment. She ended up swapping between doing my lashes and the ladys hair. At the end of my treatment she hurt my eyelid a little bit and admitted herself "because of rushing". When I opened my eyes and check the lashes I could see they were NOT even. One side was down and the other side was up. I told her and asked if she could do anything abt it but she kept ignoring my opinion and repeating herself that the lashes were the same. As I totally disagreed, she involved her customer by asking me to show them my lashes and get their opinion. I considered this so unprofessional and inappropriate as I did not want to get anyone else involved in this awkward situation. However as her customer was happy to have a look I then showed her my lashes. The customer confirmed that she could see the lashes were not even, one up and one down - exactly what I had been trying to tell her. To this point she could not ignore me anymore. She offered to rebook me for another appointment in about 2 - 3 weeks time as she could not apply perm on the lashes twice. I accepted this reasonable solution. However when I asked her to send me a confirmation for my next appointment she said her Treatwell booking system cannot provide any confirmation at all. I use the same Treatwell business platform myself I know this is not true. She gave me her computer to book the appointment myself. When she saw me being able to book myself in she stopped me and stated she did not want to book me in that way so she could avoid paying Treatwell fees. With the overall experience I honestly could not trust her so I asked if I could pay at the next appointment instead of this time (I already paid her in cash). She hesitated but then offered to charge half price for both of the appointment. I agreed as this is reasonable and works for both me and her. In a second she then changed her mind. She said to me she could not do it "the way you think you are" and that I were so fussy she would not want to provide treatment for me, rushed to the door and verbally pushing me out. She was struggling while carrying out the treatment and could (or pretended to) not understand/ explain why the treatment went wrong. All she did when the lashes were not even were ignoring my opinion, insisting they were the same and she used the correct same tools then just left me standing there awkwardly watching her drying her customers hair. As a beautician myself with just over 10 years of experience in lashes and nails I could tell she does not have enough skills for the lash lift and no customer services skills at all. Really ruin my mood for the weekend. I offered to pay her a bit for the product but she refused. Really upsetting and embarrassing for me to go through this whole situation affecting the other customers experience as well.

1 /5 Lee: Had a very bad experience with this hairdresser. I went in for a simple haircut to trim my fringe and reshape my layers, providing reference photos. She proceeded to cut my fringe randomly leaving a gap in the middle of it. I tried to talk to her and explain the issue I was having with the fringe, that the fringe was different lengths, which she denied, even though I clearly demonstrated how some hair was longer than others. She got very frustrated, and I understand that she could not spend all day on my hair, so I asked could we finish the rest of my hair and move on from the fringe. She began scoffing and moved to the other side of the room, I asked what was happening and she said my appointment was cancelled. Confused, I said i didn’t want to cancel my appointment, she said I wasn’t happy, so I needed to leave. Please bear in mind this was 15 minutes into a 40 minute appointment. I asked about a refund and she began shouting goodbye! I told her I did not have a lot of money to waste, which she scoffed at. I did not leave until she told me I would get a refund. As I was leaving she shouted at me to not be so rude. She completely took advantage of the fact we were alone to get aggressive. I seriously caution anyone to come here, as it is an unprofessional service with an aggressive owner

5 /5 Maz Campaigner: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ More than a salon – they became my family I’ve been coming to Starlight Hair and Beauty for the last eight years. I used to live just off Westbury Avenue, so this has been my local salon for years — and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The owner, Ellie, is genuinely one of the most attentive and lovely people you could ever meet. She’ll make you tea, take her time, listen properly, and she always does my roots and styles my hair beautifully. My hair is long and thick, and most salons would charge triple for the same work — but Starlight have always been fair, honest and affordable, without ever compromising on quality. Mina is also brilliant — they are both amazing, and over the years they’ve honestly become like family to me. Recently I became very ill and ended up in hospital. I had no money and my roots were completely white/grey — I felt awful. I told them honestly what was going on, and they told me to come in and they did my hair for free because I’ve been a loyal customer and they genuinely cared. That kindness meant more to me than I can explain. I live in isolation at the moment and struggle with abandonment issues, and they have treated me with love and respect when I was at my lowest. I’ve even seen rude customers in the salon, and they remain kind and professional every single time. In a world where people can be horrible, Ellie and Mina are truly some of the kindest people I’ve met. This salon is a must-go — for the hair, beauty treatments, service, value for money, and above all the humanity. If there were awards for customer service, kindness, honesty, loyalty and trust, they would deserve all of them. Highly recommended.

5 /5 Milad Noroozi: Just had my brows done and a lovely facial .Eli did such a great job shaping my eyebrows ,they look clean and natural how I wanted. The facial was so relaxing and my skin feels soft and fresh. can’t wait to come back again soon Highly recommend
