5 /5 Idjiwa Adjido: Once upon a time, a dad brought his 5 years old daughter to try kickboxing. She liked it, so they came back. Within few months, dad was signing up as well. Theyre still both at it, enjoying the learning and the fitness that come with the activity.
I am Dad, and definitively recommending the setting for both adult and children. The professional and experienced instructors make each session challenging and rewarding. The family friendly atmosphere ensures that classes are fun and educational for kids while teaching perseverance, discipline, respect and kickboxing fundamentals. Having attended many sessions, and actually watching the teaching shared with the kids rather than my phone, its interesting to see how many of the kids grow in confidence, become less fidgeting, or improve their listening skills so important to learning in life or social skills in general.
Im also grateful for the flexible schedule for both adults and kids which accommodate busy lifestyles and ensures we never miss out on training and can catch up appropriately.
Lastly, like with many settings (Judo in my youth), the culture is usually set/enforced by the head instructor (Dion). I find that he has a great combination of technical skills, personal qualities and professional attributes to effectively teach, inspire and manage students. His ability to demonstrate and explain moves clearly and effectively as well as backing it up by an understanding of the techniques, strategies and rules is definitively something one should be looking for in an instructor. But his ability to create a positive and disciplined training environment, to work patiently with students of all levels and abilities, or to adhere and enforce standards in the club, all contribute to fostering a positive environment for all. As a result, all instructors will display the professionalism and teaching skills mirroring the above which allow consistency across classes.
2 years in, still a setting I am comfortable to have my daughter (and myself) evolve in and one I would definitively encourage you to give it a try to if youre thinking about it - youre probably a free trial away to becoming regular. :)
