3 /5 Aisha Ali: I had an upper leg wax appointment with Ola on the 23rd May.
This was my first time visiting Ola’s Beauty and I, naively, assumed that my experience would be great. I had booked via Treatwell and reviews were largely 5* however at the time of my booking, there were only 17 reviews in total.
Ola is lovely and I’d give her 5* for her personality but unfortunately the wax itself was far from 5*. It was one of the most painful waxes I’ve had (my regular wax therapist was booked hence why I decided to book with Ola).
I’d commented on a few ingrown hairs I have at the back of my thighs but in general, the hair on my legs aren’t too much of an issue as I regularly exfoliate and moisturise. During the wax, Ola kept mentioning the ingrown hairs (both on the front and back of my thighs) however when I examined my legs – at home after my app, it turned out that the ingrown hairs were in fact hairs that hadn’t been properly waxed off.
The hairs were ripped in a way that didn’t pull them out completely which left me with patches of hair still left all over my thighs. I also, surprisingly, have bruises as a result of how heavy handed Ola was (happy to attach photo’s if need be).
The cherry on the cake was double dipping the wax.
To sum, not the best wax I’ve had.
5* for Ola as an individual however the wax is def 2, at a push, 3 stars.
