5 /5 Clare Cork: I have always been disciplined about doing exercise, however, I had found myself doing too much of the same thing! Suddenly I was becoming self conscious that my skin was getting looser!
I also knew that if I wanted to enjoy older age, I needed to take action and be stronger.
So it was time to invest in some help, someone with expertise in fitness.
So I went looking…
Friends recommended trainers that were online and indeed I did speak to a couple. They were professional and said they could help by writing out a program and check in with me regularly, however, motivated that I am, I didn’t feel it was right. I visited a few gyms (I’ve been a member of a number before), though the trainers were so young and I felt inexperienced.
So … I looked up trainers and went around meeting them to see if they would treat me as an individual and truly listen to my goals. Plus importantly find out… did I like them and did they like me! I wanted to be part of a team as only together would I get results.
In my search, I came across NG Health & Fitness in Weybridge and walked in to learn more. I was warmly welcomed by Nathan and it was the best thing I have done!
Why? Well, he listened intently, he spoke about the benefits of strength training and bone density and muscle mass. He talked about nutrition and sleep… the first person that had spoken to me about the bigger picture. I knew I’d found someone I respected, who was highly supportive and passionate about people’s wellbeing and I signed up.
I have since found out more about Nathan, he has learnt from his own experiences and continues to invest in his studio and himself, attending fitness seminars to improve his skills and knowledge. And he truly cares about us … not just physically, but mentally too.
I am not easily impressed, however, his positive attitude, his enthusiasm and knowledge on many subjects is a delight. The hour I am with him, I have his whole attention, he focus’s on my technique to ensure it is right, he encourages and challenges me. His main focus is to help me succeed to reach my goals.
In the short time I have been working with NG Health & Fitness I have grown in confidence, I have seen significant improvement in my strength. Nutritionally, I am more considerate with my food choices and Nathan doesn’t let me beat myself up if I have a treat or two. I have been encouraged to avoid phone use later in the evenings and my sleep pattern is better.
In summary, I am understanding more about what my body is capable of, how to fuel it and how to rest it!
I truly enjoy my sessions, in fact, I look forward to them. I have learnt that NG Health & Fitness are dedicated and genuinely care and I highly recommend them.
