5 /5 Peter Rooke: In December 2018 I took up an offer to join a 6 week challenge. A fitness challenge - exercise and nutrition seemed totally out of my comfort zone but exactly what I needed.
At 48 I have tried many diets and even joined a few gyms, hoping to get the bug and get long lasting results. But the diets would eventually tail off through boredom and the gym memberships never got me into the frame of mind to build continuous development. So eventually the weight I dropped would sneak back on, plus a little bit more.
So I was 48, knowing I was unfit and not having a plan.
Hence the challenge! I was nervous when I started but Steve, Lauren, Jenny and Tanya are really the best possible people to be doing what they do. Great motivation and support, they get you to push more for all those gains in strength , speed , recovery etc that mean so much on this journey. Celebrate the wins with you and encourage you to keep at it. The fellow participants in each class are all there for the same drive and openly encourage / support you too.
So I can honestly say the mental and physical improvements I have experienced over my 6 week challenge have been truly exceptional. I have finally got the bug to keep going - nothing has ever unlocked that before , I promise you IF YOU TAKE UP THIS CHALLENGE YOU WILL SEE RESULTS, ENJOY GETTING THEM AND FIND A PASSION TO GET CONTROL BACK OF YOUR OWN FITNESS.
My results after just 6 weeks ....
Weight Loss = 8.1 KG
5 cm off my waist
7.1 cm off my belly
2.5 cm off my chest
My resting heart rate has dropped by 15 BPM!
I am just starting this journey and cannot wait to see more results in the next 6 weeks/6 months/12 months.
