3 /5 Lynda Schoe: During July Gymnastic Summer camp
Location & Facilities:
The venue is easily accessible, and the ample parking was a big plus. The facility itself is very attractive—visually appealing and well-equipped, which left a positive impression.
First Impressions & Staff Interaction:
We began with a brief introduction, but I didn’t quite feel a warm or welcoming atmosphere from the staff. When I asked for feedback on my daughter’s participation, I was simply told, “Everything went well.” While that may sound positive, it didn’t feel like meaningful or specific feedback. I would have appreciated more detailed and constructive comments about how she did and areas for growth.
The universe of Gymnastic :
I was excited that our child is being introduced to gymnastics, as it is a new area for us and something we are eager to understand and support. From what she shared, it sounds like on the first day she participated in two gymnastics sessions and spent the rest of the time enjoying games. On the second day, she mentioned just one gymnastics routine, with most of the day focused on play.
To help us better engage with the child and support this new experience, it would be helpful to know the general structure of the day and the theme or focus—especially around the gymnastics component.
=>This would really support us in having more meaningful conversations with her and in building a positive connection with this new area of learning.
Discipline & Group Dynamics:
It seems the sessions are run with a strong focus on discipline, which I can respect, but a balance of warmth and encouragement would really help the children feel more supported.
Inspiration: My daughter, did have a lovely moment chatting with another girl who said she had met a former English gymnast, which was exciting for her.
One thing to note is that my daughter 10yo was one of the older children in the group, and I sensed there may have been an age gap between her and most of the others. This may have made it more challenging to fully engage her pre-teens at her level.
