1 /5 Caitlin Josephine Barnard: I was a member of Snap Fitness Hove for over four years, and while there are a couple of positives, my overall experience ended on a very sour note.
Positives:
The gym itself is kept tidy on some shifts, and there’s the added convenience of on-site parking, which is more than can be said for some other gyms in Brighton & Hove.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, the downsides far outweigh the positives. Despite my long-term membership, I was suddenly banned without explanation. After four years of loyalty, I wasn’t even given the courtesy of being told why. That alone says a lot about how poorly this place is managed.
The manager has a habit of brushing off legitimate complaints and does not seem to take issues between members seriously. It’s a frustrating environment when problems arise, and you quickly realise that management is unwilling (or unable) to deal with them in a professional manner.
The equipment itself is not well maintained – several machines are visibly rusty in places, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in their upkeep or safety.
Even worse, it’s an open secret that one of the people working there is engaged in dodgy behaviour both in and out of the gym, often smoking outside. How a professional gym can turn a blind eye to that is beyond me.
Overall, it feels like the gym is run by children. The sheer lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic management here is shocking.
I’m only leaving this review now as I’ve since moved away from the area so am no longer subjected to seeing people from this gym out and about, as from previous experience their attitude towards negative reviews is to share them in the work WhatsApp group and show them to members before asking members to leave positive good reviews… but essentially I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you’re serious about training in a safe, professional environment. Snap Fitness Hove was a huge disappointment in the end.
