5 /5 Alexander Nicoloff: Retrofit Kensington is an excellent gym, perfectly located just a 2-minute walk from South Kensington tube station. The facility is spotlessly clean, modern, and well-maintained throughout – from the gym floor to the spacious, tidy changing rooms.
The equipment is all brand-new and impressive: plenty of top-quality cardio machines, a solid free-weights area with two sturdy squat racks, a full range of bumper and Olympic plates, and everything you need for serious benching, squatting, or deadlifting. There’s also a good selection of kettlebells spread across both the upstairs and downstairs areas, ideal for functional or HIIT-style training.
The staff are genuinely friendly, professional, and efficient – they sorted me out with a week pass in under 10 minutes without any fuss.
Whether you’re visiting London short-term or looking for a longer-term gym, I’d highly recommend Retrofit Kensington. It’s one of the best options in the area for both casual and serious lifters.
