5 /5 Kim Lavender: Shout out to Steve what a lovely guy one of the only members of staff who actively goes out of hes way to say hello, check you are ok and make you feel a valued member. Also big shout out to Woody who although always working hard with clients, always again says a hello or gives a wave. Its these small gestures that make your day especially if you are having a tough time in the gym either mentally or physically.

3 /5 Tom Ach: Average gym but on the higher end of the price. JD Chatham is the same price and significantly better. I use the gym in the mornings and plenty of equipment, cant make a comment about evenings. Decent variety of equipment, would be nice to have a standing calf raise though. Mens toilets and changing rooms are so gross, something needs to be done about the smell in there.

2 /5 Michelle Foyle: Now I absolutely love JD Gym Hempstead Valley but mainly down to the staff, members and instructors. The management and standards of this gym the past 18 months has been absolutely abysmal. This JD gym is one of the most expensive in the county yet has been run so poorly. It used to be managed so well but the past 18 months has seen endless managers who do not give a crap about the members. I sent numerous emails and not one of them had the decency to respond, the area manager also spoke to me like a child and was so defensive when I raised concerns about the standards. This place would have been run into the ground had it not been for Tracey, who absolute kept this place running. Thank god for her! During one of the hottest summers this year instead of fixing the air con, management decided to turn it off…. Make that make sense! The drinks fountain downstairs had been broken for god knows how long and don’t get me started on the one barrier entry that is currently working, which wouldn’t be half as bad if the wifi actually worked in this place so there’s a constant jam trying to get in and out. Steve has now joined as the GM and my hopes are high. He is the first manager since Emilie that actually takes the time to talk and listen, along with asking for member feedback. He’s friendly and approachable so fingers crossed we finally have the manager that this place needs before it hits rock bottom.

5 /5 Ninh Ly: This brand new gym is excellent! Located right next to Sainsburys with plenty of free parking, this gym has it all. Brand new, loads of equipment and theres some cool things that you probably havent seen in other gyms, like the quirky mood lighting and the foliage on the walls. I dont think youll struggle to find equipment to use (see the pictures) and people seem to enjoy the fitness classes, which are included in the cost of membership. I also like the saunas in the changing room! Overall, this is definitely worth the money - have a look around if youre not sure about joining. But I guarantee that you wont regret it!
