1 /5 Mell: Very disappointing and unprofessional experience.
I booked an appointment for a gel polish pedicure and manicure. I was surprised by the high price, but decided to attend the appointment anyway.
When I arrived, I asked a simple and reasonable question: whether my feet would be soaked in water as part of the pedicure. Instead of a clear answer, the staff member responded in a dismissive and patronising manner, implying that I should “learn” how a pedicure is done and that she would decide how to proceed. The way this was communicated was extremely poor and unprofessional.
This meant I was expected to pay ÂŁ45 for a dry pedicure, which was not what I had booked or expected. I therefore decided to leave.
Unfortunately, this is not my first negative experience at this salon. About three years ago, during a manicure at the same place, a staff member started cutting my cuticles with scissors. When I questioned this, I was told that this was how it was done in her country.
Based on my personal experience, the communication and professionalism at this salon fall well below acceptable standards. I am sharing this so other customers can make an informed decision.
