1 /5 Shwetha M: I had a deeply upsetting and humiliating experience at Arora’s Hair and Beauty. I went in for a simple haircut, but from the moment I sat down, I was constantly commented on and criticised throughout the entire session. Repeated remarks were made about how bad my hair was — that it was dry, greasy, and uneven grey hair. These comments were made over and over again, not once or twice, but continuously, to the point where it felt like deliberate shaming.
I am already aware of my hair condition, but that does not make me any less worthy of respect or a basic haircut. The constant negative comments completely made me feel embarrassed and judged. What should have been a normal salon visit turned into an emotionally draining and distressing experience.
On top of this, I was relentlessly pressured into getting a hair spa and other treatments. Even after not agreeing, the pushing did not stop. I was also forced to book another appointment, with repeated insistence throughout the session. It felt like my self-esteem was being worn down so I would give in to their services.
To make matters worse, I was charged an extra £15 on top of the agreed wash, cut, and blow-dry, with the excuse that my hair was “bad.” This was never discussed beforehand and felt unfair, deceptive, and extremely unprofessional.
To anyone reading this review: please be aware and cautious. Do not let yourself be tricked into paying more than what was agreed, and do not fall into the cycle of being pressured into repeated services through constant negative comments or by breaking down your self-esteem. A salon should at basic respect you and be transparent about their charges
I left feeling upset, angry, and completely disrespected. I would not recommend this place based on how I was treated. Please dont visit if youd like to not waste money and your mental peace.
