1 /5 Ed Smith: This is, without exaggeration, the filthiest gym I have ever attended. After months of membership, the lack of cleanliness is a constant, shocking failure. Zero Cleaning: It appears no one ever cleans anything. Dust, grime, and stains are perpetual features on equipment, floors, and in changing rooms. The gym consistently feels unsanitary and is a major hygiene concern. Attached some example photos. Staff availability is also shocking, hard to find or just not even here most of the time.

1 /5 Martina Gregor: Ive been a member for a few months and initially really liked the gym but that has unfortunately changed over time. The fact that there is no AC and it gets really hot during the summer could be overlooked, but the unresponsiveness and unhelpfulness of staff at this gym is next level. I have not once received a response to my emails queries and most recently, when I requested for my home gym to be changed to a different one, I was told I would receive a call back from the manager and I never did. I just called there after a week and was told by a member of staff that the manager is on holiday and no one else can help me with my request. For months, Ive been paying for the UK-wide WOW membership but when I actually want to use it, I cant because the new gym requires my home gym to be changed and there is no one to help me.

1 /5 Chloe Turner: I’ve been a member of énergie Fitness Brooklands since before the doors even opened under the original owners — and I honestly cannot believe how far this gym has declined under the new management. The cleanliness is appalling. Showers and changing rooms are filthy: dirt, hair, dust, grime, food wrappers and rubbish all over the floor and under benches. No proper cleaning facilities, the place is genuinely unhygienic. Toilets are often left with paper all over the floor, empty holders, dirty sinks, hand on heart looks like they have never been cleaned. The water fountain hasn’t worked for weeks, and before it broke it was covered in thick, dried limescale that looked crusty and unsafe to drink from. Members have repeatedly complained about this and nothing gets done. The equipment is poorly maintained, squeaky, dusty and clearly overdue a service. Dust constantly builds up around machines and triggers my allergies every time I train. For a place charging full membership prices, this is ridiculous. What makes everything worse is the complete lack of staff. Half the time, the gym is unstaffed. When staff are present, they sit in the office and make no effort to be approachable, helpful or visible. There used to be a massive sense of community here — now it feels like a neglected warehouse full of unsupervised teens lifting dangerously with zero guidance or oversight. It doesn’t feel safe and it doesn’t feel professional. I’ve emailed multiple times and raised these issues repeatedly. Nobody ever replies. Not once. Members talk about this all the time — everyone says the same thing: “There’s no point complaining, nothing changes.” All contemplating leaving over the filth, which is such a shame because most of us have been there since before it opened. This is a huge contrast to the original owners, who kept the place spotless and genuinely cared about members and the community. Now, with higher membership fees than ever, we’re getting the worst standards the gym has ever had. It’s embarrassing that paying members have to deal with facilities in this state. Unless things drastically improve, I honestly couldn’t recommend this gym to anyone.

The management is sending debt collectors email and asking to pay balance where as I have requested via email long back to cancel my membership as I was postpartum but however they said it’s a one year contract. Nothing was mentioned when I was joining the gym.

5 /5 Andy Cooper: I see these old negative feedbacks are all when the previous owners had the gym! I joined when they were in control and when I heard there were going to be new owners I was worried, BUT its been amazing. By far my favourite gym ever! Equipment is all very modern and well maintained plus theres always cleaning material around to wipe down your machine after use. Big variety of machines and a big variety too. Plus workout studios for the shy ones and they do alot of classes too. The facilities for showers, toilets and lockers are top notch and always clean. Best of all the staff are super helpful and cheery, always smiling and on hand to help out. Jake really knows his stuff. Even better theyre now open 24/7 so even better.
