1 /5 Rebecca Swann: I had an Elemis BIOTEC facial here on June 6th 2025 — sadly the worst I’ve experienced. The machine wasn’t on at the start, only part of the treatment was delivered, and my skin was left sore and pilling. I don’t believe the therapist was trained or competent in using the machine, which is serious if true. I emailed the salon with no reply. Very disappointing.
** Update on 20th June 2025 **
Thank you for your comment. I feel it’s important to clarify a few key points for anyone reading:
I raised concerns at the time of treatment, both to the therapist and receptionist
I submitted a written complaint to the salon the next day (7th June), copying Elemis UK
I received no reply at all from the salon, until after I posted this Google review — over a week later.
As for the treatment itself, the machine was not on at the start, the terminology was incorrect, and a thick mask was applied before tool use — all of which are not consistent with any Elemis BIOTEC facial I’ve had before.
I appreciate the apology and the refund offer, but a 50% refund and a “complimentary express facial” are not appropriate in this situation. I’ve submitted a formal dispute to my bank and await resolution.
*Update August 1st 2025*
My bank has upheld the claim against Voltas and refunded the full cost of the treatment.
Despite submitting a formal written complaint, I received no response beyond a version of the statement they’ve posted below. There was no apology, no meaningful engagement with my concerns, and no assurance that the therapist was certified to use the prescribed equipment — only a partial refund offer, which I declined.
Unfortunately, the facial left visible marks and altered sensation in my skin, both of which are still present more than eight weeks later. I’ve now sought a referral to an independent dermatologist, as I remain seriously concerned about possible long-term damage.
