5 /5 evo692: I recently completed my STCW course at UKSA in Cowes and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment you arrive, the place genuinely feels like Hogwarts for sailing — you’re completely immersed in a professional maritime environment that’s focused on learning, safety, and seamanship. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and supportive, with a huge amount of real-world experience. Having an ex-paramedic teaching first aid and ex and current members of the fire service delivering the fire training made a massive difference — it’s a bit like having Lewis Hamilton giving you driving lessons. You’re learning from people who have truly been there and done it. The course was well structured, engaging, and delivered in a way that made even the more demanding elements feel manageable. Safety procedures, first aid, firefighting, and sea survival were all taught clearly with a strong emphasis on practical application, which really builds confidence. UKSA’s facilities in Cowes are excellent and well maintained, and the overall learning environment was friendly and professional. The staff were approachable and genuinely invested in helping everyone succeed, regardless of background or previous experience. I left the course feeling confident, competent, and fully prepared for work at sea. I would highly recommend UKSA to anyone looking to complete their STCW training or progress their maritime career.

5 /5 Andrew Dannatt: The Powerboat 2 course with UKSA was simply excellent. Always fun, the two trainers (Ed & Chris) we had for our small group of three over the two days of the course, provided a range of skills to help us plan, navigate and execute times with a powerboat. The weather was Force 5 and higher, which added to the experience, but the skilled trainers guided us, and gave us each a roadmap to operating a powerboat safely and in full control. UKSA provided our kit and our lunchtime food were excellent too! All round the course was 5*; great work team.

5 /5 RobsonReviews: Just finished my Powerboat level 2 and I must say I had a truly amazing time! Tom was my instructor and was extremely knowledgeable. His clarity and patience helped me pick everything up in my own timing. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. His patience kindness and attention to detail was outstanding! I would throughly recommend this course and any others at UKSA :)

1 /5 Lewis: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at UKSA whilst doing the Super yacht Cadetship course. The signal and Wi-Fi connectivity are appalling, making it nearly impossible to access online resources for coursework, despite the significant cost of the program. Additionally, the food choices are limited, and many students feel uncomfortable voicing their concerns, leading to dissatisfaction. It’s frustrating that, in a modern educational environment, such basic needs are not being adequately met. I urge UKSA to address these issues promptly for the benefit of all students. I would’ve given 0 stars if i could but wouldn’t let me so lucky you getting a 1 star.
