1 /5 T: I dislike to leave 1 star reviews but the 5 ones are clearly help from friends. This could be an amazing local gym with a great chance to build a nice community but many people are leaving because of the state of it.
It has been open for 2y but it looks like its been 30y and never maintained. No wonder its not busy. Moreover, they increased my DirectDebit without any notice, especially as they told me the price was a forever lasting promotion without any future increase when I subscribe.
Hygiene issues:
- The changing room is extremely dirty, always smells of urine, the toilets and sink are always dirty as much as the floor. I saw some people washing their feet in the sink. I noticed some dirt being in the same spot for weeks. Most of lockers dont lock even with big lockpads. Theres no heating and the big hole in the wall with the fan (always off and home of pigeons nest) makes it extra cold. Impossible to shower there in winter without getting a cold.
- Both floors can be extremely dusty. Some machines structures are literally covered in dirty dust. The floors are also pretty dirty even very early in the morning.
- No one is invited to use personal towels on the machines which restults in benches, seats and backrest always covered in dirt from people sweat which I find quite disgusting. At times, I found even tredmills covered in stains of sweat all over them from the day before. Most of people dont change their shoes either, so people coming from outside, especially if it rains, really dirty the whole space. People also use the machines as coat/clothes hangers most of the times.
Facilities:
- Theres no AC/Heating on the top floor. Temperatures can be ice-cold as low as 11ÂşC or too high in summer till 28ÂşC. Often the doors/windows are open in winter (?) and in summer they create airflow that can be quite damaging while sweating. On the ground floor there are some AC/Heating pumps but rarely or very little used. Its sadly a very unhealthy space. The guys at the reception always wear heavy coats on.
- Most machines are falling apart or broken. Its evident that there hasnt been any maintainance whatsover. The cables of many machines are loose and never lubricated which makes exercising uneffective, impossible or harmful and eventually breake the machine. Once, while lifting, a handle literally fell apart as the screw was loose/not in place, luckily leaving me with no injuries. Even lifting the same weight on same muscles group machines can feel completely different.
- No floor space to do abs, free body weight or other body work with or without dumbbells/balls etc.
- The dumbells are always messy and misplaced, sometimes even on the top floor when the rack is only on the ground floor. Also, the weight increase of dumbbells is way too high as its +2kg which makes difficult to gradually advance in your workout journey.
I heard many people complaining about giving feedback to the management about maintanance, facilities etc and without anything ever being actioned.
