1 /5 Sharon: On 21 May 2025, we booked nail treatments at The Beauty Box (CAMS NAILDIT London). We arrived over an hour late, and were told that only one of us could be seen, not our choice but the nail technician’s decision to prioritise her schedule. I paid the requested 50% cancellation fee (£41.50) for my cancelled service.
My daughters completed treatments had multiple quality issues: uneven polish application, flooding near cuticles, incomplete coverage, improper edge sealing, and rainbow chrome instead of the requested milky (white) glazed chrome despite repeated clarification. The top coat began peeling within 48 hours. Due to the poor quality and my daughters upcoming birthday deadline, we obtained urgent remedial treatments elsewhere costing ÂŁ129.
When we raised the issue with photographic evidence, the nail technicians response was deeply unprofessional. She repeatedly deflected by referencing my unrelated cancellation fee, rather than addressing the service quality issues. Initially, she agreed to do a redo (under conditions), but when my daughter specified what she wanted for the redo, the nail technician stated, “As you’re very specific on your needs, I believe it’s best that you maybe try somebody else,” then offered only £40 as a so-called “goodwill gesture.” The technician then engaged in inappropriate behaviour including random phone calls and deleting messages. Most concerning was her complete refusal to acknowledge her obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (S.49, S.50, S.55, and S.56).
There was no apology or appropriate redress. This was handled with deflection, dismissiveness, and no accountability. This was the worst beauty service we have ever experienced.
We cannot recommend The Beauty Box (CAMS NAILDIT London).
Response to the owner: I was present, paid part of the costs, and dealt directly with The Beauty Box (CAMS NAILDIT London) alongside my daughter. The lateness was already addressed and compensated on the day.
This review concerns the completed treatments, which had over two hours allocated but were performed without reasonable care or skill; evidenced by uneven application, flooding, incomplete coverage, wrong colour application despite clarification, and peeling within 48 hours.
“Anyone can send a photo,” implies that photographic evidence is unreliable. Photographic evidence is valid under consumer law and by Trading Standards; refusing to acknowledge it suggests a lack of understanding or unwillingness to meet your legal obligations. You rely on photos for five-star reviews, yet dismiss them when a customer provides evidence of substandard work.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, returning for a redo is standard practice where services fall below reasonable care and skill; this was the sole reason she wished to come back. Both the opportunity for a redo and a fair refund were refused, while unrelated issues were repeatedly raised to deflect from resolving the breach of contract.
"As you can see I have amazing reviews." Other publicly available reviews for CAMS NAILDIT London (Treatwell, Birdeye) show multiple one-star reviews describing poor service, rushed treatments, unclean tools, lumpy, sloppy, or uneven jobs, and nails that did not last two weeks. Your claim is therefore contradictory and not representative of your overall service when trading under The Beauty Box and CAMS NAILDIT London.
Your response reinforces my one-star review: dismissal of legitimate complaints, no accountability or apology, and poor customer service. You stated, verbatim, "Either you accept the ÂŁ40 refund or do what you said that you wanna do." This matter is currently proceeding through the Small Claims process.
1 January 2026: Additional photos added showing the substandard services.
