1 /5 S S: Edit - To address your first point, Treatwell does not state what length is considered short, medium or long. I raised this with you, and you said you would edit it on Treatwell.
You charged me for extra long, not long. To be clear, you are of course free to charge whatever you like. My issue is that this was not raised prior to washing my hair, which would have given me the choice to either accept the new price or take a refund on what I had already paid and not proceed with the appointment.
I did not say anything about the stylist being a downgrade or an upgrade. My issue was the lack of transparency. I asked for you twice and was told you were coming, instead of being told that you were not there and being asked whether I was okay with someone else doing my hair.
We spoke twice on Julia’s phone. The second call was when you told me you would be charging £45. You attempted to call once, not multiple times, so please be truthful. You had already made your decision, so I am not sure how speaking a third time on the phone would have changed anything or resolved the issue.
Original review - It’s unfortunate, but I can’t recommend this salon due to a lack of transparent pricing and poor handling of the situation.
I booked via Treatwell and paid £30 in advance for a blow dry with Sharana under medium length. Other salons in Ruislip and Northwood class my hair as medium, so I didn’t expect any issues.
When I arrived, I told the staff about my appointment with Sharana and was told “she’s coming,” but she never did. Instead, someone else did my hair. After my hair was washed, the stylist asked how much I had paid. When I told her £30 and that this would already have been seen on the system prior to my appt, she said my hair was not medium length and that the price would not be £30. She then called Sharana, who said my hair would cost £45.
My hair is just past bra length, not very thick, and this is far more than I’ve ever paid for a blow dry in the area. This should have been discussed and agreed before my hair was washed so I could have chosen not to proceed.
I then asked for price for a rough dry so I wouldn’t leave with dripping wet hair and was told that would be at least £25. Paying £25 for a wash and a five minute dry is unreasonable, especially when other salons charge similar prices for a full blow dry. Sharana knew I had paid in advance but did not ask her staff to assess my hair before washing, nor did she step in to resolve the issue once it became clear there was a problem.
I decided to go ahead with the blow dry as paying ÂŁ25 just for a wash would have been worse. Unfortunately, the blow dry fell out within an hour of leaving the salon.
Never again.
