1 /5 leonie luckie-edghill: My past experiences at this place have been okay, but this last time i went it was awful.
The product had expired or was very low quality.
Service took 3 hours.
Lack of apology and accountability.
Verbal and physical abuse.
Lack of compensation.
Unprofessional.
When i attend other salons i always get acrylic powder instead of coloured polish. I asked the salon for coloured powder and they said it was no problem and they could provide that service. They applied the powder onto my nails as normal however they told me the power wasn’t drying and the nails felt flimsy and weak with the acrylic on. Acrylic usually dries almost immediately so this was strange to me. They were hitting my nails with the file and laughing to each other about how the acrylic was not drying. I’m not sure if the quality of the product is bad, or if the product was expired or if the application was done wrong. I’ve never encountered acrylic that hasn’t dried before and i’ve been getting my nails done for years.
After the product didn’t dry they proceeded to scrape the product off of my nails with their bare hands, which caused me discomfort, and then proceeded to leave my hands covered in acetone and acrylic and started serving another customer. I was aware that other customers had appointments but me and my friend were left for almost an hour with acrylic and acetone on our hands, which is dangerous and can cause skin irritation such as contact dermatitis. As someone who suffers from eczema this was extremely uncomfortable and itchy, i was left to clean up the mess on my skin myself.
Any licensed and trained nail technician would know if any product dries on the skin it causes risk of skin irritation and should be cleaned immediately!
After 2 and a half hours they managed to complete my set of nails and they turned out decent.
My friend had gotten normal polish onto of her acrylics which has smudged and chipped because the staff had told her that her nails were dry when they were still wet.
Even though we were unhappy with the finished result, we waited almost 3 hours and my friends nails were filed so much she has cuts on her cuticles and our hands were stained black from product, they refused to give us any compensation. They had not given us an apology until they asked.
We asked for a ÂŁ5 compensation and they refused.
After my friends poor service and refusal, and lack of accountability she did not want to pay for the service as she was very unhappy with the final result.
The staff then refused her to leave the store, and push her back into the store as the women laughed in our face at the situation. It was two grown men who has barricaded the door and were verbally ans physically abusive to my friend, trying to make her pay for a half done service. Her polish was smudged, her nails were bleeding and cut and we had chemical and harmful products left on our hands.
We have raised this to the police and action will be taken.
