Awa Chats I went to the joint pain programme after hearing about it following my physio sessions at St George’s hospital. I was a little apprehensive as I’ve never been to the gym before. Ryan did an assessment with me to find out what my level was… it’s necessary! After the first session I was in pain but it was a different kind of pain. I was using parts of my body that I hadn’t used in ages! I’ve had a lower back pain for years but this pain was new. It was a healthy pain. The pain came from the muscles in my body that I ā€˜should have been using’ but wasn’t due to my body compensating the pain I was permanently in. OMG! This was a complete revelation… I was using wrong parts of my body to do everyday exercises and I never knew that. Alex, trainer and class teacher is absolutely brilliant. I’m sure she has memorised each person’s capabilities because she give us the same exercises but they are sort-of-ish tailored to each person. She’s amazing! I never got that feeling where I couldn’t be bothered to go. I even went to the class when I felt rough because I knew it would make me feel better. Exercising is not just a physical activity but it’s a mental one too. It makes me feel so good inside and I can’t recommend the joint pain programme enough. I tell everyone about it! I’m just sad that the 12 weeks programme has come to an end. It helped me so much and although I’ve another 12 weeks, that is going to fly by. Thank you Alex, the team and thank you Nuffield Health for providing this invaluable service!

They take the time to explain proper technique, provide feedback and adjust workouts to meet all skill levels. The facilities at District are fantastic and there are multiple classes scheduled throughout the week.

Kyle Eccleston I am a 38 year old guy who owns a dog walking business. I roughly cover 120km + a week, sometimes over 700,000 - 900,000 steps a month. I really wanted to make a change in fitting in a personalised gym structure in with my lifestyle. I knew I wouldn’t be able to motivate myself to go to a gym. I needed someone else to take the reins of holding me accountable and having a sense of friendship with working out too - hence why I chose to train with Will. I have used Fitnessworks for over a year and I have maintained a blossoming professional relationship with Will (Owner of Fitnessworks). He’s motivating, funny, witty and aspirational in many ways. I enjoy every single session - even when he adds weight without me knowing and telling me my personal bests for that day or week. Will always holds me accountable and is flexible around my schedule. He’s always in a great mood and makes my sessions fun, light hearted in conversations and always has attention to detail when it comes to strength building. It’s a perfect mixture and a great addition to my life. With all the calories I probably burn, I have been able to improve in my measurements and very proud of the progress so far: 08/11/2024 - 03/11/2025 Weight 70 - 75 kg Arm 32 - 34.5 cm Thigh 44 - 50 cm Thank you Will!
