3 /5 Susanna: I have very mixed feelings about the service I received today.
On arrival the salon appeared clean and calm and the staff were friendly.
I had some concerns about how my details were to be stored, which we were able to resolve by me providing the bare minimum.
The treatment room was very narrow but well set out and clean.
The massage couch was not set up as I
had expected (I am a qualified therapist) I had expected a couch cover, towel and then paper, there was only paper. The throw that was used to cover me during the treatment, appeared to have a stain on it (in fairness, if its oil it would be hard to get out).
The massage ( Deep tissue ) was good overall, however, I was very concerned when the therapist applied pressure over my spine, the third time I asked her not to massage over my spine. I was surprised it had happened at all, as the spine is a no go area for pressure, and theres a lot of pressure in deep tissue massage.
The facial was very thorough and my skin certainly felt good afterwards.
The accompanying head and shoulder massage was overly firm and left me with a thumping headache.
It wasnt quite the relaxing and rejuvenating experience I had hoped for.
I scored 3 stars as I felt the staff were friendly, the salon clean and calm, but the heavy handedness of the head massage, massaging over the spine and the absence of a couch cover and towel, I felt, let it down.
These are things that can be rectified and I wish them well for the future.
