1 /5 Em Amano: I dont know where to start with this place but avoid at all costs. Firstly, the venue. Its not located in the hair dresser - theyre renting out their basement. I was told to go down the stairs but one of the employees was eating on the stairs, looked at me and didnt move. I literally had to climb over her to get down. Once you get down the smell of chemicals is overwhelming - there is no ventilation at all and I had a headache after 30 minutes of being there. Its crammed (the size of a bedroom) and youre literally sat next to washing machines.
I had booked a "pedi with water", eyebrow threading and tinting but every part of it was horrendous. For the pedi, I was sat in a chair waiting while the assistant took about 15 minutes just to get the foot spa out of the box and plug it in, then she proceeded to boil the kettle (???) and start filling it up which took her 5 times and another 10 minutes. I didnt get anything Im used to getting from a normal pedi (ex. cuticles, cutting nails). Her nails were so long she wasnt even able to open the polish bottles herself and asked me to do it, and she messed up the polish and had to take it off several times with a cotton pad. They looked subpar but when I got home and looked at them closely I noticed how bad they were. She filed my nails crooked, the paint is clumpy and patchy - I could have done them better myself.
Then I waited another half hour to get my eyebrows done. Cherry came over and her assistant was watching her while she walked through tinting my eyebrows, and her assistant asks if the dye fill in the gaps, and Cherry says no. At that point Im confused and ask her about it as I booked an eyebrow tint, and she lets me know that she forgot her kit to do eyebrow tints and had run out and bought some eyebrow dye! Why would I want to dye my eyebrow hairs from brown to brown? She clearly was unable to find any tint in the time being and thought she would get away with doing a dye instead. If she wasnt able to provide the service I paid for she should have let me know and refunded me instead of doing a different treatment I didnt ask for. Incredibly deceitful and sly, I would not have known unless the assistant asked that question. So I told her not to continue and she said she would refund it through Treatwell. Fine, but she wipes off the dye she put on and manages to get it all over my face. She gave me a mirror to show her what I wanted for the threading and I was shocked at how much dye was on my face (on nose, forehead) and asked her to wipe it off. She was incredibly heavy handed and rough with the threading and I woke up this morning with a swollen eye half the size of the other eye, cuts and bruising. Ive never experienced this with threading anywhere else! Everything took 2 1/2 hours (double of what was listed on treatwell). 0/3 on treatments, 0/10 on the venue, 0/10 on professionalism and service.
