1 /5 Chonsie G: This Salon attached to others along Arina … My experience at Arina Hair Salon was extremely disappointing, and I feel it’s important to share—especially for young women and those with mixed heritage or softer natural hair.
The stylist did my hairstyle much smaller than I asked for, claiming it was because I “had no hair.” This was completely untrue and unfair. I’m of mixed heritage and have soft hair that requires proper care and understanding—not judgment or excuses. It became clear that the salon may only be suitable for certain hair types, and the staff lacked the knowledge or experience to work with mine respectfully.
The overall environment was uncomfortable. The staff were unprofessional and, at times, intimidating. As someone from an ethnic minority background, I expected to feel welcomed and understood—but instead, I felt dismissed and disrespected.
Hair is personal, and it should be treated with skill, care, and dignity. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I left feeling disappointed and upset with the result, and I will never return.
Please do your research and consider other salons that truly understand and celebrate all hair types—especially if you have natural, soft, or mixed-texture
