I’ve hesitated a lot about writing this review, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so that other dark-skinned people are aware of what can happen.
I went through 13 laser hair removal sessions at Amara Laser & Beauty Clinic over more than a year. Despite spending a lot of money and following all the advice I was given, I ended up with burns, dark pigmentation, and no real reduction in hair growth.
When I raised my concerns, the clinic didn’t take responsibility, instead, they blamed me. I was told that the burns were caused by a glycolic acid shower gel I had used weeks before my appointment. I explained that I had stopped using it long before the treatment, and I’m still using the exact same Boots shower gel today while receiving laser elsewhere, with zero burns or irritation. That clearly shows the issue wasn’t the product, but the treatment itself.
Rather than investigating properly or offering any kind of compensation, they sent me long messages justifying their side, repeatedly telling me it was my own fault for using a skincare product, for my hormones, and even for not informing them about minor changes in my routine. They completely dismissed the fact that their laser treatment didn’t work and left me with permanent marks.
Their communication was also extremely poor. I had to chase them multiple times before getting any response. When they finally replied, the tone felt defensive and unprofessional, even mentioning personal matters and trying to guilt me instead of addressing the issue with empathy or professionalism.
After all of this, I was refused a refund even though the laser results were ineffective. I was told they had “gone above and beyond” for me, but all I received were burns, patchy pigmentation, and regrown hair.
I am now having laser sessions at a different clinic, and the difference is clear, no burns, smoother skin, and real reduction in hair growth.
Honestly, Amara Laser should stop promoting their laser treatments to dark skin clients until they can safely and consistently deliver proper results. It’s not fair on people with darker complexions to be put at risk like this. From my experience, they seemed more interested in avoiding blame than in caring about the damage done to my skin.
