2 /5 Julia Pearce: Very disappointing experience. I called the shop to see if they had availability for a last minute manicure and was told they did. When I arrived, it was a very young girl (looked like a teenager) who did my nails. I needed my hard gel filed and filled. She was clearly a beginner at this... after some initial filing she tried to use acetone to remove my hard gel; I had to tell her this wouldnt work and needed filing only. Cuticle work was practically non-existent. After a very thin layer of builder gel she applied three uneven, lumpy coats of shellac that dont even get close to my cuticle line. When I left I had to file off several spots of shellac from my skin around my nails. This service was absolutely not worth £50.

5 /5 Chaand Sujanani: As one of the few men that visit this charming salon, I thought it was time to leave a review. I have been seeing Helen at The Little Nail Room for now 10 (!!) years. Having moved to London in Aug 2015, I moved in right round the corner to her salon, I walked in a few weeks after I touched down in London and needed a manicure as had a job interview and just wanted a nice mens mani - I ended up getting a Pedicure too because I absolutely hate cutting my own toenails and the vibe from H was on point. She did an incredible job. She was warm, funny, friendly and I could practice my Mandarin with her too (I moved here from Hong Kong but my Mandarin is shite!) So - now 10 years on (once a month for the last 10 years is 120 visits) - I can say with full authority and agency that HELEN AND HER TEAM ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! Aside from making my toes and fingers less gross and more attractive for other men to look at...she has helped me with several foot issues that have cropped up - calis / ingrown toenails / corns - general boy-grossness. I never had to see any specialists because Helen new how to deal with all of the perils of having active feet. She is a pro - I send all my guy and girl besties to her, and they keep going back. 1 /5 NW: Lovely ladies but sadly my gel manicure was disappointing. The salon was a recommendation so maybe it was just a one-off unfortunate experience. However, firstly the shape my nails were filed to was off - I asked for the exact same shape I came in with (a lovely oval) but just a little shorter, but initially they were filed very flat so I asked for more rounded and then they were done to almost a point so I had to ask again for oval! The shape was also not consistent across nails - some had an off-centred point with very angular sides and some were much flatter but still with a point, while my original nails didn’t have a point at all. After that, the colour was applied too thickly so at the end I had to flag this for two nails in particular that had very obviously bulges at the ends and have them filed down and the top coat reapplied. I also didn’t realise until after I left that there were still a few areas missed in the filing and some residual gel on my skin where it hadn’t been cleaned away before curing. Finally, I would just mention it was also a little off-putting that the other girl working stood next to my table and watched almost the whole manicure and that the ladies amongst themselves throughout, so if I needed to say anything I kept feeling like I was interrupting. The actual colour itself is nice but sadly it wasn’t the best experience overall. Update following the salon’s response below: I really don’t appreciate the implication that I was not a genuine customer so have reduced my original two star rating to one star because of this. The salon’s response is two months after I visited / left my review and when I showed my nails - as per the photos below - to the friend that suggested I try the salon, she agreed that they frequently apply her gel overly thickly too but not quite to the extent they did mine. She had suggested I try it more because she felt the staff were nice, which I also mentioned. While I can see there are positive reviews, I can assure anyone reading that mine is 100% genuine so I would just say to be aware that the same could happen to you.

5 /5 Nayi: This was my first trip to the UK, and after two weeks of traveling, I was in dire need of getting my nails done. The nail artist who did my nails was very kind, precise, and attentive. The next time I’m in London and need a manicure, I’ll definitely come back.
