1 /5 Sam McTear: I had an incredibly shocking experience with brow lamination at this salon — wish I had checked the Google reviews before I visited. From the start of my appointment, I made it very clear that I did NOT want thin eyebrows and requested minimal changes to my brow shape. Despite this, the therapist proceeded to leave the perming solution on my eyebrows for 20 minutes — something anyone familiar with brow lamination knows is far too long and dangerous. After that time, she remarked that my brows weren’t as “straight as she would like” and shockingly left the solution on for ANOTHER 20 minutes.
The situation only worsened when she waxed my eyebrows. When she finally handed me the mirror, I was horrified to see that my brows were extremely thin — exactly what I said I didn’t want, and they appeared flat and unlaminated. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the therapist insisted she had “barely taken anything off the shape” and even offered to relaminate them, which I declined. Ultimately, she refunded the entire treatment.
It’s evident that this therapist lacked the necessary expertise in brow lamination and was unaware of how strong and dangerous these chemicals can be. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
The first two photos below show my thin "laminated" eyebrows after leaving The Beauty Retreat salon. The last two photos show the thickness of my normal eyebrows and what they usually look like after being laminated at a different salon.
