5 /5 Gemma Knott: I’ve been coming to society for over a year but I’ve only been really consistent in the last few months. I have always wanted to get better at weight training. I always found the weights at regular gyms either constantly being used or intimidating. If the machine I wanted to use was being used I’d leave after a while and I rarely pushed myself if I did get to use them for fear of doing it wrong. Since joining Society I’ve felt so welcomed and comfortable. It was a bit daunting at first but the coaches are super friendly and helpful. Really put you at ease. I love the positive energy and vibes. The classes are small so the coaches can help you. There’s lots of classes at all different times to suit your schedule. It doesn’t matter what level you’re at everyone is welcome and they cater for all. The sessions are fun too. I’m now always being pushed to the next level. I’m hitting PBs and lifting weights I never dreamed I’d be doing. I have Society to thank for that. They have believed in me and pushed me when I didn’t think I could do it but also so understanding when you do struggle. I am getting stronger and more confident. I also believe in myself more. It’s really helped me mentally as well as physically. I really notice the difference in me when I haven’t been to the gym! I’ve made friends at Society too so it’s always nice to catch up whilst working out when you’re in the same class. I highly recommend Society! It’s not just a gym it’s a community of fun, likeminded and positive people.

I started training with Society in February this year, and as a woman in her early 20’s it felt like a really big investment for me, I wanted it to be worth it compared to the regular gym membership I’d had since I was a teenager, and it definitely has been! Not only has my body changed but my mindset and my overall approach to my fitness & wellbeing has to. All of the coaches are not only knowledgeable but so kind and friendly, you can really talk to them about anything. Another thing that has really surprised me about Society is the community, I never expected to meet such a positive and encouraging group of members and I have made friends of all ages! Joining Society was probably one of the best things I did in 2025 and I’d recommend it to anyone!

5 /5 John Sanderson: I hate gyms…. But Society is nothing like any gym I’ve been to before. There is no pressure, no monotony, no egos and no waiting round for some beefcake to vacate the piece of equipment you want to use. Society caters for everyone - I’m an overweight 59 year old but I have never felt out of place or inadequate. Everyone (coach and fellow gym goers) are friendly and supportive, and the environment is welcoming and inclusive. Each programme is designed with a purpose and each session is prepared to make it interesting, but it’s the coaching that sets Society aside from other gyms. You work in small groups (max. 6 people per coach) and you get personal attention, advice that is tailored to your specific needs, and just the right level of motivation. I joined Society in May thinking I’d last a month (which is about usual for me) but I’m still going eight months later and loving any minute - which is something I never though I’d say about exercise! - and the results have been amazing. If, like me, you know you should be doing more but can’t bear the thought of going to a gym, then Society is definitely the place for you.

It has completely converted me, and I know it’s something I will always do now The reason being that the trainers there are all so friendly and good at what they do and have so much patience and enthusiasm that keeps me motivated and wanting to do better. Society Gym has such a friendly vibe and I love it !
