1 /5 Nicole: I had my birthday nails done here, and honestly, this went from "I like them" to the entire experience not being worth it. I paid ÂŁ65 for a full set of acrylics and a few gems. The ladies were friendly enough on my first visit, reassuring me about nail biting on my hands and damaged toe nailbeds. I didnt feel too judged, although there was talk in chinese (I think). They didnt have the bow I wanted for my inspiration picture, so improvised and I liked the end result. I paid an initial ÂŁ65 for a mani (acrylic extension) and pedi, but was charged an additional ÂŁ30, which I wouldnt have minded paying if the gems had stuck on. I loved the colour, how well they tended to my nails, and they looked completely different from before! I absolutely think I was ripped off with this price, because these acrylic nails are not worth ÂŁ65. Especially because a week later, a large gem had fallen off and a few smaller ones. Left thumb has chipped off the side too. I made a honest review on Trustwell where I initially booked, then regretted, so deleted the account because I felt I was a little harsh. I can say that the nails are relatively sturdy, but it has only been a week. I had returned back to salon (since others couldnt fix the gem), and was told they would "do it for free" (it is technically not free because I have to travel for this). Then the nail tech assigned to me completely butchered the gem alignment (included in the pictures). THREE DAYS after, the small gems fell off AGAIN, probably because they didnt do it properly or use poor quality glue. I called them, they told me to come in because if I waited any longer they might have to charge me. They proceeded to turn me away at the door due to being "very busy". I was beyond peeved off at this, waited around before calling again, because I was not going to travel all the way to the salon to fix a problem they made. The main lady (company clarified it was the reception lady) suggested we use glitter nail polish to replace the small gems on both hands that kept falling off - and accused me that this happened because of my nail biting, basically shifting the blame onto me! Completely unprofessional jab, I was incredibly annoyed but agreed because I refuse to come back to this place. I asked twice to get the large gem fixed. Again, they complained of having to re-do the gems multiple times (which I understand, but you should be using better glue in the first place), and would have to pay if this continued. When the head lady asked why the big gem on my left hand was so misaligned to her staff, the one beside her just laughed and said something in chinese, my assumption, of she finding the botched job humorous. Some dont speak english so its a gamble if youll get a good response if you ask a question. Other staff would have to help and reply to basic things. The lady didnt align the big gem AGAIN, so I had to fix it myself discreetly while she attended to a customer that was paying. I feel bad for the other lady who was reassuring my issues with my toe nail beds, she was honestly super sweet and I dont include her in this negative review. This whole experience wasnt worth ÂŁ95.
Im going to be looking for a private nail tech from now on. I dont know if Ill ever go to a nail salon again, because this isnt the first time my nails have been botched, but if I do, it certainly wont be this one again.
Edit: They are smart enough to use a website creator like Sitelift and not their own business page on Trustpilot, which makes it impossible to review them there too. Sneaky.
Edit 2: 19. Jul: These nails have become a nightmare to deal with. Another gem has fallen off exactly 2 weeks after initial date. Getting gorilla glue to keep it on, luckily since I still have the gem.
Avoid this place at all costs.
