1 /5 Alamin Hasan: Soft play
Date and time of visit: Friday 02/01/2026 at approximately 14:30. I understand it was still half term. But that is not a valid excuse
This soft play centre is clean, spacious, and appears very new. However, despite these positives, the lack of basic safety management makes it an extremely concerning environment for children.
During our visit, there were no staff visibly present to manage entry, check payments, monitor capacity, or regulate time slots. The barrier was open, and play was effectively unlimited, resulting in severe overcrowding. At times, the number of children and adults using the equipment simultaneously was completely unsafe.
Parents using the play frame is understandable when numbers are controlled, but in this case there was no regulation at all. The free-flow access created chaotic conditions where children were climbing, running, and colliding with no supervision or intervention. In this state, the soft play felt like a serious accident waiting to happen.
Soft play facilities have a clear duty of care. Without staff presence, capacity limits, or enforcement of safety rules, this venue is failing to meet basic safety standards. It is deeply concerning, and I genuinely fear that if conditions continue as they are, a child could suffer a serious or even fatal injury.
Until appropriate staffing, monitoring, and strict capacity controls are put in place, this is not a safe environment for children, regardless of cleanliness or price.
