2 /5 Rachel O: I visited Motion Health Club Chelsea with my husband for his birthday, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations for a spa associated with a 5-star hotel. Several issues led me to rate this place 2 stars.
Firstly, the changing rooms for both women and men have stairs that become wet and slippery, creating a significant hazard. This setup is not ideal for couples as the sauna and steam rooms are separate, which disrupts the idea of relaxing together. Additionally, accessing the sauna and steam room from the pool involves navigating stairs, further increasing the slip hazard despite the warning signs. The poolside area is also unmanned, adding to safety concerns.
The apples provided were bruised, a complaint I had seen in reviews from two months ago, indicating no improvement in this aspect. Moreover, the facility is not wheelchair accessible, with the mens changing rooms located two flights of stairs up and the pool a flight of stairs down.
On the positive side, the atmosphere was relaxing, there were sunbeds by the pool, and the staff was friendly and very helpful.
For improvement, I suggest installing anti-slip flooring along the pool and staircases as an urgent measure. Making the steam rooms and saunas unisex would be more accommodating for couples. Additionally, providing disabled changing facilities on the ground floor with ramps for easy access would make the club more inclusive.
