1 /5 A A: I booked a 30-minute Japanese Hair Spa as a gift for my mother. The booking and rescheduling process was smooth, which I appreciated. However, the actual experience fell short.
My mum said the head massage was extremely light – she could barely feel the therapist’s fingers, which made the treatment feel underwhelming. On top of that, I wasn’t told when booking that basic elements like shampoo, drying, and other parts of the service weren’t included and would cost extra. If this had been explained upfront, I would have happily arranged and paid in advance. Instead, my mum was told on the spot and even asked to dry her own hair with a dryer and comb provided.
Thankfully, I booked via Groupon and didn’t pay the full price, but even at the discounted rate, my mum felt the treatment wasn’t worth it. Clearer communication and a better quality massage would have made all the difference.
