1 /5 Maliha: I went in on the recommendation of someone who had come a few times - for acrylic removal and then a re-application. I usually go to a lovely place in Sydenham but the location was convenient for me at the time. Worth noting my nails were in very good condition prior to this as I regularly get them done. Nail tech used the same drill to remove the top layer of acrylic as she did on my nail-bed. Saw a chunk of my nail fly out from under the drill, shaved multiple layers of my nail; natural nail. Once I saw what the technique was, I informed the technician I didnt want the reapplication. My nails have been left paper thin, I had hang nails, uneven edges and surface, dents and in pain. Im not a confrontational person and have anxiety when approaching matters like this. Attempted to call to explain the situation the next day, my boyfriend kindly called as I have anxiety towards confrontation. The answer recieved was complete denial and preoceeded to blame my former technician. My boyfriend reiterated as kindly has he could be, that we didnt want to make it a big deal and avoided causing a scene in store or writing a review, but Hannah, the owner, refused to accept liability for it. It seemed the service was based on speed rather than quality as they were very busy. The fact I paid and didnt ask for a re-application wasnt based on satisfaction but based on wanting it to be over as quickly as possible.
Im sure we could have reached a better resolution for a ÂŁ17 job... Soon after I went to another salon and was informed to the shock of the technician, the poor work and technique from the previous salon and how on earth it was deemed acceptable at the time, in person.
Wouldve liked to come back as Im local, but the store has lost two customers.
