Gymbox Victoria - (Near Westminster, UK)

1 /5 K N: Ive been a member for a month. Ive been a member of many gyms across London (financial sector). This one is £120 pm. For that money Id expect the place to be well run, the equipment in good order and SAFE (anyone fancy a blood borne disease? See below). Id also expect the staff to be interested when you tell them about unsafe equipment. That certainly wasnt the case when I attempted to tell the sole lady at reception that both cable machines in the rings area had frayed cables and one had a dodgy pulley wheel. As soon as she realised I was about to complain about something her entire demeanor became dismissive. Her: "Weve known about those for a while" Me: "So, why are they still damaged and/or allowed to be in use, then?" Her: "The process for getting them repaired takes a while." Me: "How long?" Her: "Its a process. A while. There are other cable machines" Me: "Yes, there are but when its busy, theyre busy." At which point, I realised I was wasting my time. Im paying a premium for good service, not bad. Also, if you know theyre damaged, cordon them off and take them out of use. Most importantly, every time Ive used them, my hands have been pierced by frayed cables, despite buying/wearing leather gym gloves. I know I dont have a blood borne disease (AIDS, Hepatitis, etc.) but what of other recent users whove also drawn blood on the same frayed cables? Virtually all my exercises rely on cable machines. To have two in poor order, for as long as Ive been a member, reflects very poor management and very little concern for the safety and satisfaction of their customers. They also need to train their staff that theres more to customer service than looking pretty. I hope management take note and actually take effective action, rather than offer vague excuses. Well see.

5 /5 Dr Afshin: GYMBox Victoria is a huge gym with a fantastic variety of machines. The music and overall vibe are excellent, making workouts really enjoyable. The facilities, including the bathrooms, are spotless and very well maintained

5 /5 Stelios Mixail: One of the best gyms I’ve been to Really clean space with a great vibe overall. The lighting and atmosphere make it feel modern and motivating. The staff is friendly, the equipment is up-to-date and theres plenty of it. Big plus: they have a sauna and clean showers, which is always a bonus after a workout. Definitely recommended!

1 /5 Vitória Monteiro: s c a m m e r s After not going a single time to my “trial”, i tried cancelling my membership not only by phone but also through email. In which i got NO response. I kept sending emails and calling to talk about but no one ever replied to me, just for me to receive a letter saying that i owe more than £1K to Gymbox. Yes, it looks like a great gym, but after this disgusting experience, I would not recommend to a single person. Please provide a proper email and phone number, so we can discuss further.

1 /5 Simon Chéné: I’ve been a member here since April 2023, and honestly, the experience has gone downhill fast. 1. Locker room chaos – On a Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., there were four of us wandering around with no available lockers. The place was so overcrowded that I literally had to leave because there was nowhere to store my belongings. Even worse, about 30 people were crammed into the changing area and showers – completely unacceptable for such an expensive gym. 2. Permanent “private” lockers – On a Saturday morning at opening time (9 a.m.), I was the very first person in the locker room, yet around 30% of lockers were already locked. Clearly, some members are allowed to use lockers permanently, leaving everyone else scrambling. That’s poor management and unfair to paying customers. 3. Price hikes with no improvements – Since joining in April 2023, my membership price has gone up by 12%. At the same time, the gym keeps pushing for new sign-ups, making it more overcrowded every month. Higher prices, more members, worse experience. For a premium-priced gym, this is completely disappointing. Overcrowded facilities, zero locker availability, long waits for machines, and unfair locker practices. I do not recommend this gym.
