1 /5 Howard jones: Poorly maintained machines and no response from fitlab.
Before joining I wish I had checked I was happy with the equipment choice and condition.
I had been coming here for some time but due to injuries I hadnt been recently. Previously there was a lot of the type of cycling machines commonly used. Now just one upright, one incumbent. Other cycle machines I could not use due to past injury and comfort. Both of the usual cycling machines are in a right state, probably because they remain the most popular but the lack of maintance is shocking.
Other machines have also gone such as ski machine.
I used the bikes when I rejoined but loose or seizing parts left me with further injury. I reported the mecanical faults and injury to staff at the time and asked it be logged. I emailed fitlab info about this, but no response.
I asked and emailed to cancel membership but they didnt.
I had to go in and asked for my three months fees back as I had only used the gym once. They did refund one of the three months. So that meant two months fees for one session. I explained I felt unhappy I had only used the gym once and asked would the manager contact me please? No response again. Note the machines are still in a dangerous condition.
Used to be really well run. Good equipment and people happy to work there.
Friends that use fitlab have also found service standards have dropped.
The response fro. Fit lab says a lot. So they release personal physical information without my concent, they did receive multiple emails but did not reply or act on them, they are happy to charge me two months fees for one bad visit, their statement about using the incumbent is contradictory to the leading consultant that advised me to use this type of bike and still no email to me or response to emails theu have received.
Not good service, Worthing deserves better.
