1 /5 Rachel Owens: I had a very bad experience at Define London, Pimlico and would not recommend for hair styling services.
I went for a massage two weeks ago, I was offered a promotion the salon were doing for a wash, cut and blow dry. I asked to be booked in for the deal the following evening.
I returned for my appointment and mentioned the deal I was offered, the lady said that deal was not running, I explained what I was told the day before and she agreed to it. She asked me to sit down and another assistant would start washing my hair. She came back over, at this stage my hair was wet and told me I couldn’t avail of the deal and I was wrong, she rang the assistant from the day before in front of me and gave out to her for offering the deal to me, I felt so uncomfortable.
She then told me I was only getting a wash and cut service, I wished she had of sorted this before agreeing to providing the service.
The woman who cut my hair had very poor English and when I was explaining what I wanted she actually asked if I spoke French and was clearly struggling to understand me. I cannot fathom how someone is hired as a hairdresser who can’t communicate with the customer? She then proceeded to cut my hair and actually cut me a fringe without me asking for it, I was really upset as I simply asked for a tidy up and basic face shape, she cut the ends unevenly and clearly lacked the training required for the position.
I had to go to another hairdresser the following day to fix my hair, and the new hairdresser was shocked at how poorly my hair was cut. She showed me the back of my head and I could see how uneven the cut was. I was informed the first hairdresser was using the completely wrong scissors and the fringe was very poorly cut.
I have tried to call up the salon for the past two weeks and speak to a manager about my experience, every time I call I get told the manager is not in and they don’t know when she will be back. I asked for my number to be passed on and the manager Dimpha would call me back, I have heard nothing. I believe management should be aware of this as their staff are clearly not trained properly and I should have gotten a refund as I had to pay for a second haircut. I will not be returning.
