Atado Ju Jitsu Club Oxford - Lake St

T3KT0N1K Ive tried several different martial arts classes in several different regions of the UK over the past couple of decades, including Krav Maga, Karate and Aikido. Sensei David Rogers Atado Ju Jitsu is by far the best. This class is warm, friendly and welcome to all. Sensei Rogers and one or two of the other black belts he has trained, have real world experience of its use. As such, his syllabus is comprised of practical techniques, mostly based in Atado Ju Jitsu of course, but also borrowing from other martial arts, where those techniques have been found to be effective. Theres no fluff here. Sensei Rogers is also an intelligent and highly articulate teacher who is excellent at observing each student and instantly being able to convey to them, areas where they excel, as well as areas they can improve in, resulting in smooth progression through training, no matter their experience level. You will learn what works and what doesnt, when you should and shouldnt use what you learn and how it doesnt matter how big how old you are, you can keep fit and learn self defence that works for you. I cannot recommend this calls enough!

Kelly Tsang Sulgi is an outstanding yoga instructor. Shes super attentive to each and everyone of us and I always leave each session feeling refreshed. She also offers different variations for difficult moves! I highly recommend and Ill be coming back!

Rujina Begum I’ve known and continue to be trained by Coach Mody for over 4 years now. Coach Mody has excellent knowledge in both strength training and nutrition. Mody taught me how to do body weight exercises, for instance, push ups and a newly acquired skill of doing a pull-up. Mody encourages my strength training by always picking heavier weights for me! Mody has essentially coached me out of daily energy drink consumption and continues to advocate high protein diet as well as including creatine intake. What I particularly appreciate of these semi-private sessions, is the sense of community as everyone is supportive, I’ve noticed significant improvements in both my strength and confidence. I am now stronger in my 40s than in comparison to my 20s! Thank you, Coach Mody, for inspiring, motivating and guiding us into fitness.

Aigerim Korzhumbayeva You feel truly special and cared for in Naomi’s Wellspace. I’ve been attending Naomi’s yoga classes over the past few weeks, and I can’t believe how amazing they are. During my very first class, I thought it was a special occasion when Naomi moved around the room giving short massages - but it turns out, that’s part of every class! Naomi truly has magical hands. Even just a brief massage during the yoga session leaves my sore body feeling incredible after each class. I also want to mention how clean and pleasant-smelling the studio is. It always smells like Redwood National Park (the best park in California) because of the wonderful essential oil scents in the air. The studio design is stunning, with a couple of ceiling windows that make the space feel beautifully connected to nature. I really like the high-quality mats and other yoga equipment, too. My previous yoga experience was at the Oxford University Sports Centre, which was always crowded and impersonal. I felt like just a small cog in a machine, and the only treat was a tiny drop of oil at the end of class. I had to force myself to attend those sessions, whereas now I genuinely look forward to Naomi’s classes because I feel so special there - like a queen, surrounded by a yoga+massage queen and some nice folks. These classes are a must for sore bodies, tired moms, the elderly, and the young alike. Cherishing the brief massages during the sessions, I’m now planning to book a proper massage with Naomi.
