2 /5 Barbara Tartamella: Today was my third visit to Balance Spa. I had previously booked two massages and was genuinely impressed with the quality of service — so much so that I decided to switch from my regular provider and book a 75-minute deep-cleansing facial. Unfortunately, this experience was profoundly disappointing!
I specifically booked a deep-cleaning treatment with manual extraction, yet the therapist did not perform any manual extraction. Instead, she used a metal tool to remove impurities, which was painful and absolutely not what I had requested. When I politely raised my concern, she raised her voice at me, which I found entirely unacceptable and unprofessional. She then spent perhaps one minute on manual extraction before moving on.
Before the treatment began, she also persuaded me to upgrade to a hydrofacial with radio frequency, which she described as a premium addition. However, there was no “hydro” element at all, the exfoliation was superficial and ineffective, and my skin felt unchanged afterwards. To make matters worse, the facial ended without any facial massage, leaving the entire experience incomplete and disappointing.
Adding to my frustration, within the first 30 minutes of the treatment she attempted to sell me a ÂŁ600 package, which felt intrusive and entirely out of place given that I had come to relax.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was truly the worst facial experience I have ever had — poorly executed, uncomfortable, and handled without professionalism. I left deeply disappointed, especially after such positive experiences with the massage therapists at the same spa.
