1 /5 Christian Heenan: I am writing to address an ongoing issue with my Anytime Fitness account, which has escalated despite previous assurances and actions. I have been wrongly charged for membership fees and now my parents are being harassed by a debt collection agency, despite fulfilling my obligations, being assured this matter was resolved and me being out of the country since May 2024.
To clarify the timeline:
Membership Cancellation Attempts:
I moved to Taiwan in May 2024 to travel and have not used your facilities since April 2024.
I attempted to cancel my membership online in April and May but never received a confirmation email. Despite multiple follow-ups via email on these dates:

Friday, 4th October, 4:37 PM
Monday, 21st October, 6:03 PM
Unfortunately, I received no response to any of my communications.
Wrongful Charges:
I was charged membership fees for June, July, and August 2024, despite having moved abroad and believing my membership was cancelled.
Payment of Arrears:
On 11th September 2024, I reluctantly paid £203.97 in arrears to resolve this dispute and avoid further stress (proof of payment is attached in the previous email).
Unresolved Issues and Lack of Confirmation:
On December 9th, I spoke directly with the manager, Lee Ennis, who assured me that my membership was cancelled, no further charges would apply, and that debt collectors would not be involved. He has since left the company and the current managers cant help me.
Despite this assurance and multiple previous attempts to contact your team, I still have not received confirmation that my membership has been cancelled.
To make matters worse, debt collectors have since turned up at my parents house, causing unnecessary distress.
This situation is not only unacceptable but also a repeat of a prior issue I experienced with Anytime Fitness in 2019, where I was wrongly charged and faced unnecessary confrontation. This pattern of poor management and communication has been deeply frustrating.
To resolve this matter, I request the following:
A full refund for the June, July, and August 2024 charges, as I had moved out of the UK to travel, did not use the facilities, and made multiple unsuccessful attempts to cancel my membership.
Immediate and confirmed cancellation of my membership to prevent further charges.
Assurance and written confirmation that my account is cleared of any alleged arrears, that no further debt collection action will occur, and that my parents will not be contacted again.
This situation has caused significant distress and wasted time, and I trust you will act promptly to rectify it. Whats worse, there are hundreds of other people going through this leaving 1 star reviews on google, please respond ASAP.
