When I tried to book my latest appointment, Elena said I hadnāt shown up to my previous one and insisted I pay a new deposit. I explained that I had attended that session right before travelling abroad, and she eventually said she rememberedāso I didnāt pay again.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived 20 minutes late for a 1-hour slot. She told me it was too late and asked me to pay the full Ā£40 upfront, then said to come back at 7 PM. After I left, she told me to bring cash when I came back. I reminded her that I had just paid Ā£40, and she claimed that amount was only for the slot I had missed. I said that wasnāt acceptable. After some time, when I returned at 7 PM, she eventually agreed to do the nails without asking for more money.
But when I came back at 7:00pm she was doing her friendās nailsādespite telling me to return earlier. There were no other staff in the salon at all. She later claimed the appointment had been shifted to 7:30 via a message, which I never received. I waited until 7:44 PM.
When I politely said I had only been 20 minutes late, but she wasted 44 minutes of my time, and there was no reason to keep my deposit, she told me āyou donāt have to talk too muchā and āmy time has valueāI couldāve made money in that 20 minutes.ā That was incredibly rudeābecause my time is valuable too, and I had already paid and waited in good faith.
Things escalated from thereāshe and her friends began bullying me in their own language, which made me feel unsafe, anxious, and humiliated. Then they kicked me out of the shop.
It felt like she was trying to financially manipulate meāfirst by denying my previous deposit, then by insisting I pay for a missed session, even though the appointment still happened. She kept my kept and wasted my day.
Three days later, she refunded the £40 and kept my deposit which it was £20, my point is She should have refunded my deposit cuz she wasted my 44 minutes but I was only 20 minutes late and she has been incredibly rude to me. But after being a loyal customer for nearly a year, the emotional toll and disrespect I experienced were far worse than losing time or money.
